The Permatex sponsored Follow A Dream race team ran a career best 5.42 ET in qualifying at the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals, in Gainesville, FL March 16-19th. The team, lead by owner Jay Blake and Driver Phil Burkardt, overcame a number of trials before the weekend even started, including a broken-down tow trailer and a malfunctioning data logger.

The bad data logger meant that crew chief/tuner Anthony Terenzio had to run the car with no computer data.”That was pure torture for Anthony,” Blake said. “Still, Anthony did a great job. He did it by feel, going in blind, really, and doing it the old-fashioned way. Anthony, Phil and everybody worked great together. We did it the old school way.” Even with the bad logger, the team was able to turn in an impressive 5.42 ET in their first round of qualifying. The Follow A Dream team fell in the quarterfinals of the Gatornationals, but they look to improve on the showing and capitalize on the momentum of the career time.
